Review: Tangle Teezer

Salon Elite Tangle Teezer hair brush - $16.50

I've been wanting a Tangle Teezer for a few months now, and because they don't sell it around here (I think they do sell it in America, just not around me), I decided to check Amazon and Ebay. I ended up buying it from Ebay earlier this month, because it was cheaper and shipping was free - unlike Amazon.

And let me just say - this brush lives up to the hype! It does leave my hair feeling softer, and I have absolutely no tangles when I brush my hair with it. You can use it on both wet and dry hair, but the only time I use it on wet hair is when I'm blowdrying my hair, otherwise it makes my hair feel really heavy when it dries. Also, it had a lot of static the first few days I used it, so I definitely suggest spraying hairspray on the brush when you first open it!

Another thing: If you have a dog that hates being brushed, I suggest buying them one of these. I have a pomeranian that hates being brushed, which isn't a good thing because they're supposed to be brushed regularly. But I used this brush on her last week because its a gentle brush, and I was curious - And she actually liked it. So I am definitely going to be buying another one for my dog!

There is one downfall, and that's the size. I have really small hands, so it's hard for me to get a good grip on it. But I am going to be buying the Compact Styler soon, so I'll see how they compare in size and get back to you guys!

Overall, I give this product 4 stars! Great brush, but hard to hold :/

Have you tried the Tangle Teezer? Do you like the Compact Styler more than the regular size? Or the other way around?

Oscars 2013: My Best & Worst Dressed

The Oscars were on Sunday, and the E! Red Carpet was awful! I get such joy out of watching their red carpet coverage, and then (for some reason) on the biggest award night, they decide to have this long, boring pre-red carpet, and then downplayed the actual red carpet. But enough of that - let's get to it!

xx

Best:
Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive

I'll admit, I thought this was very bland at first. But the more I looked at it, and analyzed it, I realized that I absolutely love it. If she didn't have those red lips, it would've been too much of one color - they completely tied everything together. But the dress! The beading on that dress is so brilliant! She said she chose it because it had an old Hollywood glamour/ Happy Birthday Mr. President feel, and she couldn't be more right!

Worst:
Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra

Where do I even begin with this? Okay, the dress wasn't the worst of the night.. but everything else was (although, the dress was still bad on her). For starters, you don't show up at the Oscars with bruises on your arms! The fact that they could have so easily covered those bruises with tattoo concealer makes me think she was either wanting people to talk about her, or she really just didn't care. And that hair is awful. I don't know what they're trying to go for with that hair, but it doesn't look ombred, it just looks like they need to touch up her roots.

If you're on crutches, you don't walk the red carpet - end of story.

xx
What do you guys think of my choices? Agree or disagree?

Products I've Used Up: Redken Thickening Lotion 06

Redken Thickening Lotion 06 - $15.50

I've repurchased this product a few times, so this might be more of a favorite product rather than just an empty bottle, because this is the best "body builder" I've tried!

This product promises to "build extra body and texture to hair for full, fabulous style" and it does just that! I have baby fine hair, so I've tried plenty of other products that promised similar things and they either completely weighed my hair down or didn't do much at all, and I was pleasantly surprised when my hair stylist used this in my hair.

You apply about a quarter-size drop into wet or damp hair and then blow-dry. It says to blow-dry for maximum volume, but I let my hair dry naturally (by accident) one day, and it was clumpy and gross. So no matter what, you need to blow-dry with this product.

Overall, I give this product 5 stars!

xx
Have you ever tried this product? If so, did you like it as much as I did, or have you tried better products? If you haven't tried it, what's your favorite volumizing/thickening product?

Artist of the Month: The Vamps

James, Brad, Tristan (both pictures are from Google)

I came across this band on Youtube a few months ago, and instantly fell in love!

They've only been posting covers for 6 months, and it seems they have quite the following (me included!). They're an "acoustic-driven indie pop band" from the UK at ages (left to right) 18, 17, and 18. They've done a few One Direction covers, which had people comparing Brad (the lead singer) to Harry Styles, which he was probably thrilled about haha :)

I love (and constantly search for) acoustic artists, so it's no surprise that I instantly fell in love with these guys. This is the first video of their's that I found, Little Things was written by Ed Sheeran, and I'm not usually a fan of Ed Sheeran covers, so when I find one that I love as much as the original, I know I've found a new favorite artist! All of their covers are great, but I can't wait to hear their original stuff.

They're talented and easy on the eyes, so I'm sure they have a huge future ahead of them!

Grammys 2013: My Best & Worst Dressed

Hello lovies! It feels like it's been forever since I've updated :( I've had what I like to call "Blogger's Block" and it's not been very fun at all! But now I'm back, and I've got my next few updates in mind, so I wont be taking anymore breaks in the near future.

xx

The Grammys were last night, and it was actually a kind of boring red carpet for me. There was nothing that really blew me away, and it was quite difficult for me to choose a best dressed, because there was nothing that made me stop and say "That's my best dressed, no doubt!"

If I were being biased, I'd say Ed Sheeran was best dressed, because he actually wore a suit, instead of his usual hoodie. But I need to be professional about this! There were a few dresses that I was having such a hard time choosing between, I was just going to put them all as my best. But I had to man up and choose, so let's get started!

Best:
Florence Welch in Givenchy

You either love or hate this dress, and I love it! She worked with the designers on this entire look, and I thought it was fantastic! It definitely wasn't the most beautiful dress of the night, but I thought it made the biggest statement. I love that emerald green is the color of this year, because it's gorgeous. Not only was this dress a statement, but I think this is the best she's ever looked. Her makeup was up to par, her hair was up to par. She usually looks almost manly, so I was pleasantly surprised last night!

Worst:
Adele in Valentino

It pains me to say it. It really does. I'm not really a fan of Adele, but I think she's a genuinely sweet human being, and it honestly pains me to see her fail like this.. But this dress looks like Mary Poppins' bag! I love that she went for color and a pattern, when she usually just goes for black, but just not this pattern. It's not like I absolutely hate the dress, because there is something that's making me want to like it (that might be Mary Poppins, not sure). And I love the shoes! I like the bag!

It's just..

xx

So who were your best and worst? Did you guys like the Grammys? What were your favorite performances? Mine was Elton John and Ed Sheeran, so sad he didn't win last night :( I think I might be more upset about it than he is! Haha

Wishes: Nothing But Letters

I'm usually not one to wear shirts with words on them. I'm usually one to dislike most shirts with words on them. And I'm not talking t-shirts, I'm talking tops that I'm actually going to wear outside of my house. But then Topshop came around a few months ago with their "GEEK" shirts, and I instantly fell in love! So this is my new wish list: nothing but Topshop, words and letters.

xx

Starting with sweaters:
Knitted Genius Jumper - $72

Knitted M Motif Crop Jumper - $64

Knitted K Motif Crop Jumper - $64

Knitted A Motif Crop Jumper - $64

Tees:

DORK Tee - $36

GEEK Tee - $36

I Hate You Tee by Tee and Cake - $44

Do any of you have any of these? If so, how do you like them? I really want them to put a Topshop in Atlanta!

Ulta Haul!!

I went to Ulta yesterday, planning on only buying one thing, but that one thing quickly turned into four.. So I thought I'd do a haul!

Tarte "Picture Perfect" eyelash curler w/ "Lights, Camera, Lashes!" mascara - $16

I've been looking for a new eyelash curler, because I lost mine a few months ago and I was going crazy without one. And I'd be lying to you if I said the only reason I got this one wasn't because it was gold. I didn't even notice it came with a mascara until I got home! I'm excited to use the mascara, because the tube for the normal-sized (not the sample) "Lights, Camera, Lashes!" is weird, and I can never open it. So I'm excited to use these!

Big Sexy Hair "Powder Play" volumizing and texturizing powder - $6

I found this in the clearance section, it was originally $6, but I got it for $3. I was debating whether or not to get it because I already had one that wasn't much bigger, but it was so cute and tiny (and only 3 bucks!), so I had to get it. I love this stuff! At first, I didn't, but I realized I just wasn't putting enough in my hair. It's perfect for whenever I blow dry my hair, I just poor a little of this on the flatter areas of my roots, rub it in and then brush it down.

Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 09 - $5.19

I constantly hear nothing but good things about Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick, so I had to buy this. And I was a little scared when it didn't come off of my hand. It literally stained my hand for the rest of the day (trying to wash it off three times)! So, obviously, the first thing I did when I got home was test it on my lips, to see how hard it was to take off. Surprisingly, it's quite easy to take off of your face. Just not your hands.

Lee Stafford "Beach Babe" sea salt spray - $11.99

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was wanting to try a new sea salt spray, and I love Lee Stafford's "Beach Blondes" shampoo, so I thought I would try his sea salt spray! Plus, it smells divine! I just hope that this one will be a little stronger, because it is a little more expensive than Not Your Mother's.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what'd you think??
